Summer breeze, makes me feel....HOT
I finally took the time to drag myself off the couch to blog. I have to admit, I was feeling sluggish for what seemed like forever. First of all, why did winter last, like 6 MONTHS this year? My first excuse for not blogging is that it was cold and dark and I just couldn't find the motivation to come up with something witty to write about. Then, winter ended and we had about 3 days of spring then we get hit with the wall of heat and humidity. What happened to happy jaunts through the neighborhood, feeling the cool breeze through my hair. It never happened, I tell you. So then I pouted for a while and finally decided I should get up off my furry butt and update this thing. Maybe the sun will keep me motivated to keep you all entertained on a regular basis. I did have some fun last month. Mommy and Daddy went to Savannah for the weekend so I got to stay with their friends. And they have this little weiner dog Bruno. We got along well. It was kinda fun checking out a new house. And I didn't even miss Mommy and Daddy that much. Of course, as long as I'm getting pet, I can suppress the feeling of abandonment for a few days. Mommy and Daddy's friends also took me over to another person's house who had three other dogs and man, did we play. I was exhausted for days! When the 'rents got home, they must have thought I was dying or something because I literally laid on the couch for about 3 days. It was fun, though!
Other than that, I just haven't been doing much. Now that it's finally warm, I've been getting to go on more walks. And you know what that means - yes, I get to feast on that succulent, lovely grass that grows along the sidewalk about a block from our house. Oh, it's so good. I daydream about it all the time. I can't wait to go on another walk so I can have some more. We usually go out late, because of the humidity but it's still light out so I can find my patch easily. Luckily, the other dogs haven't discovered it yet. Of course, they probably don't have the refined nose and good taste in herbs that I do.
Summer also means the return of the fly. Usually a few sneak into the house since we have the doors open more frequently. Which means I get to stalk them until they finally tire out, give up, and let me eat them. Stupid flies. So until then, I'll just lay right here and contemplate my next move. Or maybe go for another ride in the car. There's nothing quite like a stiff breeze through the ears and a symphony of scents floating by my nose. That's why I'm smiling like a maniac in my picture. Enjoy!
